“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me?”

― Carl Rogers

Human to human connection to explore your story and enhance your life.

LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming

Approach

Humanistic & holistic

We are all on our own paths, and have the capacity to grow and create our best, most authentic lives. We are complex humans, made up of mind, body and spirit, influencing how we connect with ourselves and the world.

Depathologising & trauma informed

Our lived experience, and societal factors outside of our control, shape our identity and impact how we move through the world. We are not problems to be fixed, and healing is an ongoing process.

Person-centred

We all have unique stories and insights. You are the expert in your life, and deserve compassion, understanding and autonomy.

I love working within the LGBTQIA+ community as a queer and trans counsellor, and supporting people with sexuality/gender related issues. Other topics I work with include but are not limited to depression, life changes/transition, neurodiversity, chronic illness, relationships and grief/loss.

While my professional experience below has value, my lived experience with mental health is the foundation for how I work, and why I do this. The conversation around mental health is slowly shifting, but the stigma still affects us all and we are bound by oppressive systems and power dynamics. Connection is key, and it is a privilege to be with people as they navigate their lives. My aim is to help people create hope, trust and safety within themselves, empowering them to live their most meaningful, authentic life.

I became a counsellor in 2019, and have since worked in disability, youth, alcohol and other drugs, with older adults, refugees and incarcerated people. My counselling education was built upon person-centred therapy, and modalities learned include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Narrative Therapy. I have done professional development in several other areas, and am committed to ongoing learning. I use an integrative approach, meaning I am present with you in session, and we figure it out together.

I am registered with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) and adhere to the code of ethical practice.
